Patio Cushions Review

We spend a lot of time on the patio in good weather, hanging out with family and friends, reading, or making something great on the grill. Winter was really brutal here, and when the weather finally broke, we were eager to get out the patio furniture and put it to use. However, when we put the cushions on, we noticed that they looked faded, dated, and in poor shape. Patio cushions make the furniture, IMHO. So, we decided to invest in some new cushions, and some patio cushion covers to keep them fresh and in good shape. Lots of places around town carry patio cushions and covers, from the “big box” home improvement stores to the outdoor specialty stores. We headed out that afternoon to do some shopping.

There was an amazing array of styles to choose from. My significant other is totally into floral designs, so that’s what she was lobbying for. She really liked a complete set of patio cushions displayed at one place, featuring roses in various pastel shades. If we were going to go with flowers, I preferred the deeper colors offered with some ivy and purple flowers. But I made it clear I’d prefer some manly-looking stripes. We left that store, and went to another where we found a collection of patio cushions that offered floral fabrics on chairs and complementary stripes for chaise lounges. Done deal! We made our purchase, put the cushions in the truck, and headed back in to look at covers.

Some friends have great-looking patio covers that feature a strap and buckle system. The patio covers stay in place really well, even in the wind. They are made from a breathable, waterproof material, which also has UV protection. They are several years old, and haven’t faded a bit. They look great – better than the old patio cushions they cover! The store carried that brand, so we picked up a set of patio covers for all our chairs and chaises, and they even had covers in the same line to cover the grill and the table. We are enjoying our patio more than ever. The new patio cushions look and feel great, and we know they’ll stay that way with the patio covers we added to protect them. The dogs got our old cushions, so they’re spending more time on the patio, too.
