Patio Designed Cushions

To begin with, patio cushions add style and comfort and were originally needed to soften the stark discomfort of wooden chairs in ages past. Later, we discovered we liked that comfort on everything!
Today, we find patios laden with chairs and benches, and not surprisingly there are cushions on everything. A popular trend is now showing up this summer with cushions around a long, low eating table. Maybe the Japanese have had it right all along!
Cushions are appealing to us for their bright colors, and bold prints that invite us to step outside, to sit and rest. They invite us to take our dinner to the patio where the
softness of the cushions are blending with the gentle perfumes of the colored flowers in the twilight.
The different styles of cushions range from squares with little ties for that old fashioned country look, to round pillows in solid colors or lively patterns. Some are shaped like donuts for Aunt Gertrude and her hemorrhoids, and still others are sloped lower or higher on the front or the rear for aching backs and varicose veins. Who knew that one day our smallest pains would decide what cushions we bought, rather than their decorative style.
Cushions are found stuffed with Poly filling, foam, and even that recycled stuff that looks like dryer lint to me. All in an effort to blur the lines from inside to outside. In our day and age, we look upon our yards as extensions of our homes, and added square footage. It doesn’t take a lot of money to make your lawn chairs comfortable if you are careful, but by the same token, you can run up a big bill in a hurry if your not careful with your pennies.
One other thought, and that is the quality. Do you have more time than money, and can sew them yourself, and stuff them, knowing that they will last many years, or do you have more money than time, and can find a good quality fit for you at the right price? If you have neither, then it is time to get creative, and see what pillows you have around the house, that might offer a solution!
